What Can I Expect From This Course?

Our online parenting classes allow you to work from anywhere that has WIFI connection. You can log in and out of the class as many times as you need until you finish and the program will hold your last spot. You can start immediately and finish hours, days or weeks later. You simply read through the material, take short T/F quizzes and a final T/F exam at the end. The final can be retaken at no additional charge until you pass. As soon as you are done, you can download your Certificate of Completion to print out or email to your CPS worker, judge or attorney.

Topics Covered

Every length of class covers the same topics, but the longer the class, the more in-depth it gets on each subject. Students learn how to handle anger and stress, the cost of poor parenting, understanding the legal process, how to make a parenting plan, establishing appropriate boundaries, consequences and rewards, how to help build your child's self-esteem, how to more effectively communicate with your kids and ex-spouse, and step-family issues and concerns.

100% Online, Private and Convenient

The entire class is taken on your PC, laptop, Tablet or even Smartphone. There is nothing to print out, no additional workbooks or paperwork to keep track of and no driving to make a traditional classroom class across town! You can stay in the comfort and privacy of your own home without having to sit in a classroom full of strangers.

Divorce in Mississippi

As of the 2009 Census Bureau report, Mississippi had the 6th highest divorce rate for women and the 11th highest for men in the United States. However, it's not easy to get divorced here and is an event that can be very difficult for everyone involved to get through. Mississippi legally refers to a termination of marriage as a "Divorce From the Bonds of Matrimony". In order to file for divorce in this state, one of the parties has to have been a resident for at least 6 months preceding the filing. The Mississippi Chancery Court has total jurisdiction over divorces and can be found in each of the 82 counties. It is both a Fault and No-Fault state, so a divorce can be based on Irreconcilable Differences. Based on Mississippi Code, Title 93, Section 93-5-24, if the parents can't come to an agreeable parenting plan, the Mississippi family court will step in and award custody based on the child's best interest. Parenting classes are not always mandatory but can be assigned by the Chancery Court. Taking a parenting class proactively as a good faith measure can show the court you are serious about doing what is best for your child.

Mississippi Student Review

"This class was very informative and helped me to improve my relationship with my ex-wife and kids. I got prior approval from the judge to take an online class because of my busy work travel schedule. Every parent should take a class like this whether or not they are divorcing!"
