Montana Online Parenting Class Highlights:

What Does This Class Cover?

Our parenting programs are designed by Dr. Ari Novick, Ph.D., a licensed and practicing Family Therapist. The courses are ideal for parents who are interested in improving their parenting skills or need to fulfill a court or legal requirement. Every program covers key topics like taking responsibility for your actions, the importance of positive role-modeling, why empathy is so important, anger and stress management techniques, harmful patterns to avoid, and how to build self-esteem in your children. The co-parenting classes also include understanding the legal process, how to set up a parenting plan, dispute resolution skills and the importance of teamwork.

What Do I Do If I Have Questions?

Taking an online program gives you complete privacy and the convenience of being able to stay at home while learning. We understand that you might be concerned about running into a question without having an instructor at the front of the room to answer it. We therefore provide 7 day a week email support and live telephone support M-F from 9:00 a.m. - 6 p.m. If we don't answer your call right away, please leave a message and we will get back to you promptly!

Montana Divorce Law

The number of divorces in Montana is about 10 - 1 which puts it in the middle of the country for an overall divorce rate. It is fairly easy to file for dissolution of marriage in Montana. The filing fee is around $200 and the process can take as little 3.5 months to complete if there aren't major disputes to resolve. If you have children under the age of 18, you or your spouse must have lived in the state for at least 6 months prior to filing. Montana is a no fault state and would like to see parents share custody of the children as equally as possible. The court doesn't grant custody based on a child's gender or the financial status of the parent, but in the child's best interest.

Montana Statute 40-4-226

This statue says that in any case that involves minors, the court will inform parents of divorce education programs and might also mandate a class. The program must be educationally based and is not to substitute for individual therapy. We suggest that you get prior approval from the judge to take an online program like ours if you can't find an in-person class near you that fits your needs.

Montana Client Review

"This was a great class! I live in a small town and getting to the class would have meant leaving work early and paying for childcare. Taking this course from home was easy and since I wasn't stressed, I was able to engage in the material. This is the way to go!" Kaeley S. - Denton, MT
