South Carolina Online Parenting Class Highlights:
Why Do I Have To Take A Parenting Course?
In many cases when parents are going through a divorce with children under the age of 18, the judge will mandate a divorce education class. This is not because you aren't good a good parent, it's simply because the court wants you to learn the most current skills to keep your children as emotionally healthy and safe during this process as possible. Our course covers topics to help you to understand what your child is going through, improve family communication, avoid certain negative behaviors, improve your anger and stress management and develop a strong co-parenting plan with two stable homes.
100% Online Flexibility
Our online parent education classes are designed to allow you to work at your own convenience. Once you register, you own the class and can take it at any time of the day or night with Internet connection. You have the freedom to log in and out from anywhere in the country and the program will hold your last spot for next time. No need to keep track of workbooks or paperwork, you simply read through the entire class on the screen in front of you. At the end, you take a T/F final exam and once you pass with a 70% or better, you can instantly download a copy of your certificate of completion. The final can be retaken at no additional cost.

South Carolina Divorce Laws
To file for a divorce in South Carolina, both spouses must have lived in the state for the past 3 months, or if one has moved away, the other spouse must have lived in the state for the prior year. There is one "no fault" ground which is called "Living Separate and Apart for One Year Without Cohabitation." Otherwise there are 4 grounds based on "fault" which include desertion, adultery, physical cruelty or habitual drunkenness and/or drug abuse. If you are filing based on "no fault" grounds, you can't file for divorce until you've lived apart for 365 days. If it's based on "fault" then you can request a final trial hearing 90 days after you file.
South Carolina Parent Education Classes
Parenting or co-parenting classes can be mandated by the judge at his/her discretion. If your judge stipulates divorce education classes, you can request that you be allowed to take them online. Many parents find themselves too busy to get to weekly classes, or there aren't any nearby, or they are too expensive, or they don't have a reliable babysitter to watch the kids while they are at class. There are many valid reasons to get approval to learn new skills in the convenience of your own home, online.
South Carolina Client Review
"Thank you Dr. Novick for providing this class! It was full of valuable information and I feel like I have learned some new tips, even after 12 years of parenting experience. It was easy to understand, interesting and incredibly helpful that I didn't have to spend 1 evening a week away from my kids. I strongly recommend asking your judge if you can go this route!"
